June 2006: Barry Allsuch & Co sponsor Tabard RFC during a tough season

Final Notes of the Season 2005/2006
I would like to thank all the players and the coaching staff at Tabard RFC for their immense contributions for the season just gone. It was undoubtedly one of the most difficult seasons in Tabard’s recent history and I would like to thank you every one involved in the club for sticking to what was an impossible task at times. It did however identify those players who were loyal to Tabard during a very challenging time and we will be building on this loyalty for the forthcoming season when we will be playing in London 2 North.

Plans are in hand to recruit new coaching capability and at the same time bolster the squad with new players who can hopefully be integrated more effectively than was the case last year with our overseas imports. On the coaching front we are pursuing a very experienced back who has been coaching and playing at level three in France for the past four seasons.

The past two seasons have been difficult and we now have to make every effort to consolidate and rebuild in London 2 North. To achieve this we must make every effort to build a unified team with strong leadership on the park complemented by an effective coaching set up. I believe if we can retain the bulk of the players that finished the course last season then we have a good basis on which to build.

Pre-season training starts on Tuesday 4 July and training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season thereafter. If you are reading this article and are in any way interested in playing rugby for Tabard at Cobden Hill in Radlett or helping out in any way whatever please do not hesitate to ring me on 07710 927617.

Ross Hopcroft
Chairman, Tabard RFC
